My 4 make-up essentials

Okay so these are my favourite products in my make-up collection at the moment 🙂

1. No.7 Beautifully Matte Make-Up Base- I love using this primer, it gives a great base for applying my foundation and stops shine. I use it on my oily t-zone which is my forehead, nose and chin. I use it quite sparingly as I feel it’s more effective that way. You can purchase one from any big boots

2. Rimmel Exaggerate Eye Liner- I have tried sooo many different eye liners in search of that perfect shade of black. There are some that dry matte and look almost grey and there are some that dry with a slight sheen. This Rimmel liquid eyeliner has such a beautiful finish. It drys very matte and is extremely dark. I like using this eyeliner when I’m teaming it with a dark or a red lippy. It has a short nib which makes it easier to apply if you’re an eyeliner beginner. You can purchase this from Superdrug or Boots.

3. Smashbox Photo Finish Lid Primer- this is a new find for me but this keeps my eyeshadow in place alllll day and the great thing is it also works as a lovely eyeshadow colour on its own too. You only need to apply a very small amount before you put on your eyeshadow. What I like to do is use my fourth finger to gently rub the primer across my entire eye lid until there’s an even spread but you can also use a small concealer brush.

4. MAC MatchMaster Foundation- Last but not least is MAC’s MatchMaster foundation. I really like the finish that this liquid foundation gives me. I’ll admit I don’t think it’s the absolute perfect match for my tone but it’s the closest one I’ve found so far. I don’t wear this on its own though, I add a little Select Sheer Pressed Powder on top to give me an even smoother finish. You can purchase this from all MAC stores or online.

Have a lovely weekend (despite the rain)!

  1. Hey Claudia Im loving your blog all the way! Well done huni. Just wanted to ask about the match master foundation in comparison to studio fix fluid foundation. The latter is really popular and known to give an all round matte finish. I’m not an everyday makeup person but have been using the studio fix for years now and want to try something different so how is the matchmaster working for you? I have oily tzones just like you. How do you find the coverage? Does it also give a matte finish?

    1. Thank you Amina! Similar to you i also used to use the studio fix foundation amd when i moved over to match master i saw an immediate improvement. Match madter has a lovely matte finish and the coverage is great, without being thick and ‘cakey’. It blends beautifully with the pro-long wear concealor which i use for my brows. But for an even more matte finish and to set the make-up for the entire day i recommend using a little Select Sheer pressed powder on top too. Hope that helps xxx
